On Thursday we (the woman, the dog, and I--the cats stayed home) left for the Flying L Ranch in Washington State.
We only planned to stay for one night--our friend had booked the 3 night minimum stay and was not able to use Thursday, so she offered it to us. We knew that several of my friend's friends were all meeting up there. What we did not know is that they call their unofficial meeting the "sloths" and slothing consists of sitting outside in comfortable chairs, drinking lots of alcohol all day long and eating good food. Laura immediately took to slothing. I, unfortunately, was still a little too sick to take full advantage of all that slothing had to offer. So, while Laura and the sloths (who are all about 60) partied into the wee hours of the night, I was off in bed. Laura had such a great time, she arranged for us to spend a second night. We did get in one small hike at a really nice waterfall, but most of the time was spent slothing around the ranch. The dog had a fabulous time. There were three ranch dogs for her to play with and she also enjoyed getting into the pond and creek.
